Workbase kitchen
The Kitchen opened at Workbase in 2008. Designed in house, supplied and built by a leading kitchen fitting company. It is complete with spacious work surfaces, a central island large cooking range and double ovens.

In the time it has been working the Kitchen has gone from strength to strength providing high quality food for Service users and staff. Many of our Service users have achieved Level 1 and 2 Hygiene Certificates and now regularly cook, while others are learning how to cook.

Activities
The Kitchen at Workbase provides:
  • A wide range of traditional, seasonal and bistro style foods
  • Vegetarian option each day
  • Activities supervised by a qualified chef and lecturer.
  • Home grown produce used from the Workbase garden
  • Creative food preparation activities
  • Only fresh ingredients are used.
  • Lunches are prepared and served each day

    Menus
    Menus are different each day and are compiled to reflect the seasons and our clients food preferences. A variety of breads are made fresh each day. A typical lunch served recently:

    Flaked roasted salmon on a toasted muffin with Lime hollandaise sau
    Crisp salad with a walnut dressing.
    Home made Cornbread
    Stilton and cheddar cheese tartlets
    Crisp salad leaves with a mint dressing
